The impressively fast f/1.2 maximum aperture affords a great degree of control over depth of field for isolating subjects and producing desirable selective focus effects. A large maximum aperture of f/1.2 gives outstanding speed when shooting in low light. The lens also provides fine control over focusing, allowing extremely shallow depth of field for creative effects. The lens passes distance information back to a compatible EOS camera’s E-TTL II flash system to ensure optimal flash metering.
